My brother Keith, and his wife Angie have been living in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the last 4 years while they attend Michigan State University. Keith is studying Dentistry, Angie, Nursing. We have been meaning to go to see them, but we never got around to it. We realized that our time had run out when we got an invitationf or Keith's graduation. We decided to head out there to attend his graduation. It was a lot of fun. Angie is pregnant with their first children, triplets. It was crazy to see how big she was at only 6 months along. It will be good for her to be back in Utah when the babies are born so she will have family around to help.
While we were there, we attended the graduation, we drove to Detroit, Michigan and attended a Norman Rockwell art exhibit. Rockwell is David's favorite artist. It was amazing to see the details that he put into the art that went on the magazine covers. The originals had amazing texture, even fibers in the hair.
We also drove to Indiana to visit with David's brother, Mark, and his wife Robin, and daugher Lauren. We went to an arboretum, and saw beautiful plants and butterflies. The butterfly habitat wreaked havoc on David's allergies and his eyes swelled up. Then we went to find a place to eat. As we were walking along, we asked for directions from a police officer on a souped up segway. He was really cool and joked around with Lauren for a little while, then he offered to take us to lunch at a great local hamburger joint. We had a blast. After lunch, the officer told us that he had been having a horrible day, and that hanging out with us had made it much better. I'm glad we ended up going to Michigan. I kind of wished that we had driven across to Canada, because it was really close, but we didn't. I'll get there eventually, just not quite yet.
